Bible Study Verse
John 14:23
Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. (NKJV)
Thoughts
Hunting, fishing and quad riding affords the sportsmen opportunities to visit some old back-country line shacks.
I have often wished that I could somehow look back and see how the "old timers" spent their hours at these cabins.
Today, they are still
used by sportsmen as hunting camps. I can remember spending a couple of
nights in one myself on a deer hunt. The old wood stove did a good job
of keeping us warm at night.

Action Point
When we live with
someone we get to know them well, we form a bond or relationship. We are
also in constant conversation with each other. Jesus tells us, "If
anyone love Me, he will keep My Word; and We will come and make Our home
with him." Read it this way (writer's paraphrase): Each day, spend
time in My Word; and set aside time for prayer and reflection.
If
you are not already doing so, take His challenge and give this a try.
Jesus promises to send the Holy Spirit to "teach you all things."
Anyone who already does so will attest to the fact that He is true to
His Word.
Sportsmen's Tip of the Day
Sportsmen not only make
their home in these old line shacks, but rodents do as well. Carry a
small bottle of chlorine bleach with you and mix a couple of ounces with
water; wet the floor area with this before sweeping. Keep in mind that
rodent droppings carry disease like Hanta Virus.
