Bible Study Verses
I Corinthians 2:5, 14
That your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. (NKJV)
I Corinthians 2:14
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (NKJV)
Thoughts I am a wildlife biologist, a scientist of sorts. Many scientists who are struggling with Christian faith get hung up with ideas described in these verses as the wisdom of man. As a result, they cannot turn their lives over to God fully in faith. Many scholars and intellects have the same issue with faith in God. I have one thing to say to those men: "We'll never outsmart God."
His wisdom far exceeds that of man. He created us, the Earth, and all that is in it. What more do we need to know? It's really quite simple. Each day that I am working or hunting in the field, I am inspired by God's power when I look at His beautiful creation--wildlife, mountains, streams, and clouds. I choose to trust in the knowledge and wisdom of our Creator and to receive the things of the Spirit of God.
