Bible Study Verse
Job 6:14
"A despairing man should have the devotion of his friends, even though he forsakes the fear of the Almighty." (NIV 1984)
Thoughts Trophy fishermen, regardless of species, recognize the importance of releasing their targets.
Because of their size and strength, trophy fish often make aggressive strikes and powerful runs. So, a fisherman's success may come with a price - lures bury deep into their mouths and gills, and fish are worn from battle.
Big spotted sea trout are no exception. They are aggressive and voracious feeders. I was recently blessed with a big one. The lure was deep into its mouth and gills. Even though I surgically removed the hooks, it all seemed to be in vain.
I wanted her to live, so I spent a considerable amount of time reviving her. I did not give up on her. (Will D)
Action Point What happens when someone is in a seemingly endless spiral of defeat and failure?
We witness to them, pray for them. But in the end, we come up feeling as if the situation were hopeless. Their continued rejection causes us to walk away.
We must poise ourselves to never give up. Try again. Who was it that never gave up on you and me?
Sportsmen's Tip of the Day Treble hooks on surface lures work well, but can cause damage to fish. They are still effective without barbs and cause far less damage.
