Today's Photograph . . . . Antelope (Cliff S) |
Genesis 9:2-3
The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands. Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. (NIV)
Thoughts
I don't know about you, but I'm sure glad that these verses are there for us to read. They confirm that we aren't doomed to be vegetarians! Of course, God didn't have to put quite so much fear in the hearts of the deer and elk I pursue; and did He really mean for Javelina to smell like that? But, they are still good in red chili, and for a good time harvesting them!
Thank you, Lord, for your wonderful creation!!!

Action Point
We didn't get here by accident. God has placed in all of us the desire to provide the basic necessities of life for our families and loved ones; and He made the plants and animals for just that purpose.
It's up to us to be sure that we use them wisely and as good and appreciative stewards.
Sportsmen's Tip of the Day
Take special care of your animals after you've killed them. Get them cleaned and skinned, and keep the musk and other odiferous contaminants off the meat. Keep them clean, cool, and dry. They'll be the best eating you've ever had, even the Javelina!
