Today's Photograph.... Friction Can Be A Good Thing (MQ)
Bible Study Verse
Philippians 2:1-4
If you have any encouragement from being united with
Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship
with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion,
then make my joy complete by being like-minded,
having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but
in humility consider others better than yourselves.
Each of you should look not only to your own interests,
but also to the interests of others. (NIV)
Thoughts
We read and hear a lot about friction between
Christians and atheists, Christians and Muslims, and
Christians and other groups. We also sometimes
experience friction between Christians, whether it's
husband and wife, two co-workers, or people in the
church. We even see some of it in the Bible.
The
solution to conflict is very simple - it's to look out for
the interests of the other person. Remember - the
grace we have been given is grace we don't deserve.
We should return that grace to other people.

Action Point
Did Christ experience conflict? We only have to recall
the Easter story to know the answer is yes. So, we
won't always avoid conflict. But with those who have
the same goals, the same purposes, and the same
Lord,
we can live at peace by keeping those goals and
purposes in mind. We need to remember that the
mission Christ calls us to is larger than any of us.
