Today's Photograph . . . .  It Rises At One End Of The Earth . . .  (MQ)
Bible Study Verses
Psalms 19:1-6
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth.  (NIV)

Thoughts
Have you ever thought about what God looks like? The Old Testament gives a couple descriptions:
  • A consuming fire  -  "To the Israelites the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain," Exodus 24:17 (NIV)
  • A cloud   -  "Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle,"  Exodus 40: 34 (NIV).
A better description of what He looks like is given through words describing His attributes in nature and the world around us. "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. . . In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes it circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat."

Action Point
What do you think God looks like?

I see God in every sunrise, whether I'm in a boat or standing hip deep in the surf. In a tree stand or in a duck blind, he's there.

Watch the early morning sky reflecting an orange glow on the eastern horizon. Slowly it becomes brighter. Darkness changes into illumination as shafts of light emanate out onto the whole earth. Warmth and brightness increase. Tree leaves and flowers petals lift upward praising our Lord, God.

He is the same every day, never changing. Nothing is too difficult or impossible for Him. Praise and trust Him today like you never have before. He will not disappoint.

Sportsmen's Tip of the Day
Illuminate the darkness. If you are a night fishing devotee, check out your favorite sporting goods outlet. Take a look at the different varieties of LED lighting accessories. The small lights can be stuck on a hat, pocket, or lapel giving out a surprising amount of light. No more juggling a flashlight and fishing equipment at the same time.
