Bible Study Verse
Proverbs 24:27
Prepare your outside work, make it fit for yourself in the field; and afterward build your house. (NKJV)

Thoughts
God's instruction in this verse is specifically saying to make some money to pay for the house before building it. It refers to Proverbs 27:23-27 which elaborates a little. He says that the flocks and the fields will provide money, nourishment, and clothing for us while we build our house. In more modern terms, get a job so you can pay for your house.

Nowhere does it say to use this money to support our hobbies or vices first. God has given us our hobbies for our pleasure; but He specifically instructs us to take care of our household first.

Action Point
Consider your priorities in your life--God, family . . . hobby.

Are you investing your time and money in the proper order as God has instructed us? If you are a good steward, He will then give you the desires of your heart, without guilt or stress.

Sportsmen's Tip of the Day
Always keep at least three methods of fire starting in your backpack's survival kit. Here are three:  waterproof matches, flint with striker with tender, and  mirror with tender. Practice with all of them at home before you need them in a life-threatening situation.
