Today's Photograph . . . . The Great Thing For All Outdoorsmen Is That NOW Is Harvest Time For Us
(Jack M)
Bible Study Verse
John 4:35
Do you not say, 'There are yet four months, then comes the harvest'? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. (ESV)

Thoughts
Ask a farmer or a rancher what time of the year is her/his favorite, and she/he will probably respond, "Harvest time."

The great thing for all outdoorsmen is that NOW is Harvest Time for us. God has invited, involved, and commissioned us to be workers in His Harvest Time.

A buddy that won't listen to your story (testimony), won't go to church with you, won't read a tract or participate in a small group will react differently when you invite them outdoors. In fact many of them will be waiting at the truck, the field, or the boat when you invite them to hunt or fish with you. So use that time to develop meaningful relationships that will empower and enable a witness in the future if not at the present time.

Action Point
The outdoors is wide open for evangelism. God is at work at the grass roots level in His plan of offering eternal life for all who will receive it through faith in Christ.

Hunt with a purpose!!!  Bring someone who needs the Lord when you go hunting. Invite them along intentionally to join in the outdoor fun. Ask God then to make them interested in spiritual things, to make them aware of their sin, to make them understand the offer of forgiveness in Christ, and then to have an urgency about getting right with God by receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Sportsmen's Tip of the Day
Bring along a copy of a recent Sportsmen's Devotional when you get ready to hunt or fish. If you are the host, you just have to say that you want God to give you a great day in the outdoors and you want to remember Him first. Read the Scripture and the devotion, have a brief prayer of safety and success, and look to see what the Lord will do.
