Today's Photograph . . . . That Christ Would Be Revealed To The World Through Each Of Us (MQ)
Bible Study Verses
Luke 24: 46- 48
He told them, "This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. (NIV)

Thoughts
Yesterday morning I was out hunting with my son for the last time this year. We have a late doe season in December here in Michigan, and this season happened to coincide this year with some ridiculously cold weather.

As my son and I prepared to get ready to hunt yesterday morning, we woke up to 0 degrees Fahrenheit without wind chill. By the time we drove a half hour to our hunting property, it was a balmy 5 degrees.
As we sat there in our blinds waiting for one last opportunity to shoot a doe, we endured the cold. We sat for a couple of hours but to no avail - we saw nothing other than woodpeckers, blue jays, and squirrels.

Action Point
What would cause us to go out on a frigid cold morning like this when we could have been back at the house drinking hot cocoa and enjoying the snowy view of the lake out our family room window?

Commitment. We are committed hunters; some might even say crazy or insane - and I understand where they are coming from. They just aren't committed to the cause like we are.

Well, let me ask you a question today, "How committed are you in your spiritual walk?" Because if you are truly committed to Christ, your life will reflect it. We don't get called "committed" hunters by sitting in the house - not hunting. Our actions reflect what we believe in.

Spiritually, do people around you see your faith in action? Do they know that you are committed to Christ? I'm not talking about doing things for a show, and I'm not talking about trying to earn your salvation. I'm simply wondering if the world around you sees Christ in you.

As we kick off a new year, may this be our prayer - that Christ would be revealed to the world that we encounter through us. May we be His hands and His feet to a suffering world around us.
Sportsmen's Tip of the Day
If you are going to hunt in extreme cold, layer up - layer up - layer up. Make sure your head is covered, as most body heat is lost through the head.
